It’s all about the Cows…
Calving Spring of 2021
Yuki Macho was born on April 16th. He is a solid, nice looking bull calf that we are considering keeping for a future herd bull. He’s growing fast!
Shed was a big improvement for wintering!
Plans are moving along- concrete slab done!
Dusty and Camila hanging in the pasture!
Taro born Sept 9th
Yes- another bull calf! But he is very healthy and looks great! Machiko did a great job! We discovered the baby when we came down to check them before work this morning. After checking and tagging him, he was good to go. And Masaki is so happy to have a buddy!
Masaki arrives
#223 had a nice bull calf- healthy and looks great! We are happy to see our herd grow!
August Calves coming
We are patiently waiting for the calves due in August. Halfway through the month- should be any time! The cows look healthy and happy. They are enjoying the fresh grasses and hay. When it’s really hot and muggy, we keep them in the paddock where there’s lots of shade and plenty of water. It sure can get hot in Wisconsin!
Machiko and Mitsu 2019
We are excited to add these two Wagyu to our farm! They arrived on June 9th. Two full blood Wagyu heifers that are due in August. This is a great start to building our herd. We hope to add another pregnant heifer each year! Looks like everyone is getting along!
Plans for Wagyu
We purchased two pregnant Wagyu cows that are due in August. Excited to add to our herd!
2019 Begins!
We started the year with a sale of 11 cows to a friend of ours who is transitioning from dairy to beef. We are glad they are going to a good home! We have 4 cows left, along with all 7 calves. In the Spring we should have 3 new calves and can sell the two yearling steers. It will be a much more manageable size for us! We need to get our pastures re-seeded and fertilized so we have enough for grazing. Last year we started feeding hay early because it was dry and the pastures did not grow fast enough for 22 head of cattle.
Fall 2018
100 bales of hay! Plus we are haying my brother’s fields and getting one more cutting on the farm. Should have plenty of hay this year! Successful “Cow Day” this year- 10 pregnant cows!
Summer 2018
Calves- 2018
The first Wagyu calf arrived on May 10th! A heifer named Fumiko. So cute!
2nd Wagyu Heifer Calf- Sachi born May 15
Born June 17th: Heifer Angus Calf- Akira and Angus bull calf Rocky (#19) We thought Akira was a Wagyu at first, but since she was born way past the due date, we decided she must be Angus! But, she sure looks like a Wagyu!
Angus Calves born June 20- Reggie (#20), a bull calf, and Lilly (#18), another heifer
Blue (heifer) born July 6, 2018
Spring?
Winter will not let go yet! We had a big snowstorm the weekend we moved cows to the calving shed!
2018 begins…
The cows have been through some cold weather so far this year. Lucky we have the cattle shed!
2014 – the year it all began!
It’s all about the cows… keeping them content and well fed with quality grasses. Our cattle enjoy a stress-free life on grassy pastures and grass hay from our farm. It may take a little longer, but the result is outstanding meat quality. Check back and find out when and where we will be selling our grass fed Lost Creek Beef .
We had a baby calf born in September- first calf born on the farm in many years!
We purchased our cattle in the summer of 2014 from a local farmer.
We have 4 cows and 4 calves. All heifers, and all Black Angus except one Hereford.
Winter Sets in…

Winter 2016-17
2017
In the Spring of 2017 we purchased 3 yearling calves to add to our herd. Waiting for it to dry up and warm up!
First Calf of 2017- “Pepper” born to “Brownie” our Hereford Cow on April 23
Second Calf 2017- “Blossom” born on April 29
Prince and Ruby are 2 days apart- May 12 and 14, and Beau was born May 23rd!
The rain and mud continues in May…
Cows are lovin’ the pastures and first crop of hay is started in June
Surprise bull calf born June 19th. Thought this cow wasn’t pregnant, but did she surprise us! And little Duke somehow got outside the fence before he was a day old!
And, another bull calf born June 30th! Well, didn’t expect that either! Born to first time Mom who wasn’t interested in nursing. But, after a week of bottle feeding and keeping them together in a corral, she came around! We named the calf “JJ” because he has an upside-down “J” around each eye!
Little JJ, our latest bull calf had a rough start- Mom wouldn’t nurse right away so we had to bottle feed him. And, he got an infection when he was a week old so we gave him shots and pills for a few days and look at him now! Hoping the meds took care of the bug for good! Happy calves!
August 2017 on the Farm… Got ear tags on some of them!
Fall 2017 Winterized the water tank, purchased 100 round bales fromAll Pages the neighbor, and got a “new” enclosed cab tractor.
